Baltimore Symphony Orchestra’s Steinway Fund
Help Us Bring a New Steinway Model D to the Meyerhoff
As the Baltimore Symphony continues to present the world's leading artists, we are committed to providing them with a concert instrument of equal excellence. Today, we are falling short of that standard.
It has been more than 25 years since the Orchestra last upgraded its piano collection. With the help of Steinway & Sons and generous friends like you, our dream of acquiring a new Model D Concert Grand Piano for the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall can be realized.
Thank you to our founding Piano Fund supporters: Rick Berndt and Members of the 2025 BSO Academy Class!
Our Progress To-Date: $150,000 as of March 15, 2026
Thank you to all donors who have generously supported our Piano Fund to-date! With your help, we are well on our way. With a plan to select our new piano at Steinway's factory this summer, and with great pianists contracted for next season, it is important we reach our goal by August.
Every Steinway is crafted from more than 12,000 parts. You can help us bring this extraordinary instrument to life by "purchasing" a symbolic piano part or key.
