Mozart Meets Latin Masters

Six-time GRAMMY® Award-winner Giancarlo Guerrero offers a journey driven by the rhythm and lyricism of Latin and Classical masters. Music that pulses and dances gives way to moments of warmth and clarity, inspired by impressions of folk traditions and urban life and transformed into vivid symphonic scenes.

• Giancarlo Guerrero is Music Director of the Sarasota Orchestra and Chicago’s Grant Park Music Festival, and served as Music Director of the Nashville Symphony from 2009–2025, where he developed a reputation for imaginative and carefully curated programs.
• Alberto Ginastera and Astor Piazzolla represent two distinct approaches to Argentine music, one rooted in rural folk traditions and the other shaped by tango, jazz, and classical counterpoint.
• Max Bruch’s Scottish Fantasy features Jonathan Carney in one of his final solo appearances as BSO Concertmaster.
• Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart expanded the orchestra in his “Paris” Symphony, introducing clarinets into his symphonic writing for the first time to suit contemporary French tastes.

• Approximate run time: 2 hours, with a 20-minute intermission.
• Late seating is not guaranteed, and will happen at the discretion of the front of house manager.
• Many Classical concerts include brief onstage remarks from the conductor and select performances feature pre-and post-concert talks.
