Listen Closer

  • Jonathon Heyward makes his SummerFest debut, bringing his own twist to an Independence Day celebration! You're sure to hear music you know and love, and you might discover a new American favorite!
  • "The Star Spangled Banner" will be performed with the winner of the O, Say Can You Sing? competition, hosted by the BSO.
  • The 1812 Overture has no relationship to American history, but has become a mainstay of patriotic celebrations (Tchaikovksky's score calls for cannons, so it's a natural way to kick off the BSO's incredible 12-minute fireworks show!).
